How should I take Allegra?
Use Allegra as prescribed by the doctor, or mentioned on the label. Never take in larger or smaller amounts or consider it for longer use to prevent harmful effects.
Have full glass of water to consume full tablet of Allegra. Never use any other kind of liquid to eat the same. Before you measure the dose shake the oral suspension or liquid form of Allergra. However, to do so you can buy a measuring spoon or a dose-measuring device from a pharmacist, but not a regular table spoon.
To take fexofenadine orally disintegrating tablets (Allegra ODT):
Place the tablet in its blister pack till the time you are all set to take the medicine. Now uncover the package and wrap back the foil from the pill blister. Never push a tablet through the foil as this may spoil it forever.
Before having Allegra tablet, ensure that your hands are neat and clean, and absolutely dry. Then place it in your mouth to let it dissolve automatically.
Never swallow the whole tablet. You must allow it to dissolve it right away without chewing in your mouth. If needed, you can also drink liquid to help gulp the meltedtablet.
Allegra disintegrated tablet needs to be taken on an empty stomach and it should be 1 hour before or 2 hours after your meal.

Allegra should always be stored at room temperature away from heat and moisture. Keep the bottle tightly closed.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Always take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for next scheduled dosage of Allegra then there is no need to take skipped dosage. Never take extra medicine just to make up for the dose forgotten by you.

You need to avoid antacids within 15 minutes after or before taking medicine that comprises Allegra. It is so because antacids will make the absorption of this medicine really tougher for you.
Even some fruit juice like apple juice, grapefruit or orange juice can make the absorption of Allegra tougher for you. So, avoid its intake with either of these juices.
You are also advised not to take any cold or allergy medicine till the time your doctor says yes to it.
Allegra does not have any serious side effects although you should seek immediate medical attention if you demonstrate any signs of an allergic reaction to Allegra.
